Columbus Magnet School

We at Columbus Magnet School are so excited that you are visiting our webpage to check out what’s going on here.  One of the things you may not yet be aware of is that the technology committee is currently in the process of setting up our new webpage, (as a part of the Norwalk Public Schools pilot program).  We are very proud to have been chosen as the first Norwalk Elementary school to pilot the program.  We look forward to continuing to work with our children to provide “real life” opportunities to apply their learning.  The launch of our Student Webpage Committee will be another way we can do so.  We also anticipate the endless possibilities this webpage will provide us in terms of ways we can connect and communicate with our Norwalk Community.  We hope to have the new webpage up and running within the next month.

On other fronts, as our school year is now in full swing, our school staff is working diligently to provide each and every child with the best possible instruction to meet their needs.  Classes on each grade level are participating in field trips which are supporting the expectations we have of depth of understanding for our students on all of their subject matter.  To support our HOT Schools – strong Arts experience, we welcomed Brother Kojo and his group here at last week’s All School Meeting to explore and participate in African song and dance.  Additionally, our after-school and extra-curricular programs are now up and running in order to further enhance the learning experience our students have here.
